Akoteu Falemaama is West Auckland's only Tongan Christian Early Learning Centre.

It  belongs to the Vai ‘o e Mo’ui Church, Ranui.

Akoteu Falemaama means "house of light" or "house of learning", and we welcome your child to be part of our special learning community.

Language and Culture

We encourage and support our children to learn our Lea & 'Ulungaanga FakaTonga.

Our children experience an environment that is rich in the Tongan language and culture.
Embedded in the daily programme, our children learn:

  • Lotu (prayers)

  • Veesi lauloto (Biblical memory verses)

  • Hiva (songs)       

  • Faiva (dances)

We also honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi and incorporate Te reo me nga tikanga Māori and our children's different cultural backgrounds into our learning programme. This helps to enhance their sense of identity and belonging in knowing their cultures are valued and acknowledged at Akoteu Falemaama.

Our children are provided with opportunities to grow socially, emotionally and creatively. We support our children by building on their strengths and interests, and guide them to explore the world around them as they develop new skills and form meaningful relationships with others.

We offer 20hours free ece for children over the age of 3.

Eligible families with children Under 3 can apply for WINZ subsidy however we do offer support.

Affordable fees

We are very fortunate and grateful to have been sponsored by KidsCan since 2022.

KIDSCAN PROVIDE:

  • Healthy Meals approved by the Heart Foundation

Fresh fruits and Ingredients are delivered to Akoteu Falemaama every week and meals are prepared daily by our Kitchen Person. 

We offer Morning Tea, Lunch, and Afternoon tea each day.

  • Fleece-lined rain jackets

  • Shoes and socks 

  • Gumboots

  • Nit treatment
